Happy Handmade Monday everyone,
I am very happy to be able to share with you my biggest cross-stitch project to date...my little gardening bear! It is by no means a giant bear but it has taken me a rather long while to get finished...mostly because of my laziness!
Earlier this year, I was very kindly given a whole lot of cross-stitch stuff from Mr T's Nan. It included a little kit to make this cute little guy.
A few months later, a frame was bought to showcase this little achievement of mine:
Small in size but not in the number of hours it has taken me...I am not sure I am ready to take cross-stitching to the next level??!
I am keeping this post short as I am suffering from a very bad case of burning chilli hands after cutting and deseeding a subtantial amount of chillies to make preserves. I will write about these once I'll be able to properly feel my fingers again!

This is beautiful but I am with you with cross stitch. It takes forever. It is something I am having a break from as I haven't got the energy at the moment for the concentration needed. Good on you :)
Your cross stitch is beautiful. I completely understand about the time it takes. I cross stitched the last supper on black aida for my mother in law, it took me ten years. Yes I do mean 10 years, it was a nightmare. Thanks for sharing.

It's a beautiful picture but cross stitch is definitely time-consuming! Maybe not the craft for when your time is short. Hope those hands have soon recovered!!
He's a lovely gardening bear - I used to love cross stitch but find I've less time for it at the moment, it really is time consuming but a lovely way to spend an afternoon with a good radio programme!
I do love cross stitch so I know how long it does take to do even a small picture. Your little bear is gorgeous well done on finishing him.
He is beautiful and I know the work that goes into x stitch. You must be very proud of him

Oh, I feel your pain as I once burned my hands making jalapeno jelly! Not fun, altho the jelly was delish. :) Love your little bear, that is some fine work. I have done a very little cross stitch and find it hard work and a little tedious. Mostly because I lose my place so much. I really admire you!
He's adorable. I used to do cross stitch and still have a sampler that is unfinished and am sure would be lovely if I could find the inclination to do it. I don't think it is an "immediate" enough craft for me, if you see what I mean.
